Consultant Anaesthetist

GMC – 6073108

I’ve been working in anaesthesia for two decades now, and at the consultant level for almost a decade. I’ve got a real passion for it, especially for paediatric anaesthesia. I did most of my training up in Newcastle, which is a great place to learn.

After getting my Fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists, I did some fellowships in paediatric and orthopaedic anaesthesia. That’s why I ended up in my current consultant post in Wolverhampton, where I’m the lead for paediatric anaesthesia and helped set up the new Paediatric High Dependency Unit.

I also love teaching and training. I’ve got a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Newcastle University and I’m a Royal College of Anaesthetists Tutor, helping out the resident doctors at my trust.

When I’m not in the hospital, I try to keep my mind and body active. I’m a bit of a tech geek, writing for tech websites and podcasting on three different tech podcasts. I’m also into fitness and you’ll often find me at the local gym. And believe it or not, I’m a huge metalhead!
