The cost of braces varies depending on the complexity of treatment required as well as the treatment modaility used. But on average, braces can cost from approximately £1800-£4000 depending on the case.
There are a number of different ways to straighten teeth. Traditional braces, spring aligners, clear aligners, lingual orthodontics are all different ways to straighten your teeth.
Traditional Braces
These start from £1800 per arch or £3000 if you have top and bottom teeth done. Traditional braces involve brackets bonded to the fronts of your teeth and a wire is ligated to the brackets to align the teeth.
Additional fees associated with traditional braces may occur when treatment is prolonged or additional treatment needs to be performed such as the surgical exposure of a tooth or supplementary treatment such as an arch expander.
Spring Aligners
These start from £1800. They are designed to straighten and align the front six teeth only. They work quite quickly but a lot of patients don’t like the bulky feel and appearance.
Clear Aligners (Invisalign)
Invisalign is the biggest and longest-standing company providing professional clear aligners for patients to straighten their teeth discreetly.
Treatment starts from £2500 per arch or £3400 for both top and bottom teeth. Fees can be higher if the treatment is more complex and requires more adjustments, refinements and time to get the best result.
Lingual Orthodontics
Lingual orthodontics is like traditional braces, but has the brackets and wire on the back of the teeth. This can be considered truly ‘invisible’.
Treatment fees can be £2000 onwards.
Additional fees
Additional fees to orthodontic treatment includes supplementary treatment to get a harmonious and great result for your smile. this may include, but isn’t limited to:
- Teeth whitening
- Composite bonding
- Veneers
- Additional retainers
